The Ohio Democratic Party has an immediate opening for a Deputy Finance Director. We are
seeking an experienced fundraiser who will help to serve as a strategic asset to ODP's finance department. The Deputy Finance Director will help execute finance strategy by managing a portfolio of donors, major events and special projects, and coordinating closely with the Finance Director. Specifically, the Deputy will be responsible for:
• Executing fundraising and stewardship events
• Managing portfolio of donors
• Managing special fundraising projects
• Coordinating digital fundraising
• Supporting the call time program, including donor research, debriefing and prospecting
• Staffing principles at fundraising meetings and events
The Deputy Finance Director will have responsibility for implementing fundraising plans and meeting performance milestones, with continual progress toward larger organizational goals.
Additionally, he or she will be an aggressive innovator of new ideas, approaches, and
opportunities to raise the necessary funds. The position reports to the Finance Director.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 2 years prior fundraising experience – political preferred
• Prior experience with planning fundraising events
• Prior experience with call time preferred
• Ability to manage details and stay on top of multiple tasks, large and small, at once
• Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills – the ability to speak persuasively in a
charged atmosphere
• Ability to adapt and remained focused on goals and outcomes
• A strong commitment to Democratic ideals and issues
• Effective computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and NGP preferred
• Social media skills
The Deputy Finance Director should be prepared to take on any and all additional duties as assigned. Working night and weekend events and statewide travel are required.
