A Democratic congressional front-runner seeking to unseat a vulnerable Republican with a national profile is looking to hire a full-time campaign manager. We are looking for an experienced applicant who has fresh ideas and an understanding of how the current political landscape will impact campaign strategy.
The Campaign Manager will oversee all aspects of the campaign including day-to-day operations, the hiring and management of staff, the coordination and implementation of the fundraising operations, management of our field program, and ongoing coordination with the candidate. Excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills and a full willingness and ability to oversee fundraising operations until hiring a Finance Director are required.
For this race, we are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in multi-candidate primaries.
Core responsibilities of the Campaign Manager include, but are not limited to:
Oversee implementation of the primary campaign plan and play a leadership role in creating and executing the plan to win the general election
Oversee the campaign budget
Manage campaign staff, interns, and volunteers
Support the communications team with drafting of content for communication, endorsement, and outreach materials as needed
Support our growing field team as needed
Oversee the Candidate's schedule
Hire qualified staff to expand the growing campaign team
Skills & Experience:
Top notch operational, strategic, tactical and interpersonal skills
At least 2 cycles campaign experience
Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team
Strong writing and public speaking skills
Ability to problem-solve effectively and take creative approaches to meeting goals
Experience with NGP and Votebuilder
Must be able to travel and work campaign hours as well as nights and weekends as needed
Preferred candidates will have:
Knowledge of the Rural New York political landscape
Experience working in rural districts
Strong network in NY State
Experience engaging and partnering with communities of color
