Coordinated Campaign Director

Position: The Connecticut Democratic Party (CDP) is seeking a full-­time Coordinated Campaign Director for the 2018 cycle.

Start Date: 2018 Location: Hartford, CT

Responsibilities Include:
  • Draft 2018 Coordinated Campaign Plan by engaging local, state and national stakeholders, party leaders and elected officials
  • Implement a plan to re-elect a US Senator, Members of Congress, elect a Democratic Governor and constitutional officers, as well as maintain majorities in State House and State Senate
  • Develop staffing plans and manage recruitment of coordinated campaign staff to execute the campaign program
  • Engage exist partner organizations and new activist organizations to integrate their programs and volunteer capacity into the coordinated campaign
  • Assist in stakeholder communications to direct outreach/partnership efforts on behalf of the Democratic Party with candidates, campaigns, and allied organizations;
  • Manage the coordinated campaign budget and work with party compliance staff to ensure that the coordinated campaign abides by state and federal campaign finance rules and regulations
  • Facilitate Party efforts on constituency outreach and constituency caucus coordination through coordinated campaign efforts
  • Work with party leaders, elected officials and their designated staff on an ongoing basis to brief statewide leadership on campaign activity
  • Engage statewide primary campaigns during the primary season to ensure that the Democratic Party is prepared to execute a robust statewide field campaign after primary election

Qualifications:
  • At least 5­-7 years of experience on political and/or advocacy campaigns or organizations
  • Experience in recruiting and managing staff for a political committee
  • Record of working with national, state and local political players engaged in electoral strategies and programs
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with diverse group of stakeholders
  • Political experience a must; Field experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of the VAN preferred
  • Understanding of mail, phone and online strategies preferred
  • Working knowledge of state and federal campaign finance law required
  • Must have strong written and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly organized
  • Time management skills are a must
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

Compensation: Commensurate with experience. Benefits are included.
