Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) seeks a dynamic and effective Temp, Digital Election Specialist. Digital Content & Campaigns team carries out Planned Parenthood's strategy to develop and promote content and campaigns across all Planned Parenthood digital platforms. Working with colleagues throughout the national organization, the Digital Election Specialist's primary responsibility will work to support Planned Parenthood's digital work in the 2018 elections. They will also work closely with our affiliates to advance Planned Parenthood's electoral plan and related digital campaign work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Primary responsibility for executing the paid digital electoral program, including working with vendors, developing strategy and vetting all content.
- Works with vendors to obtain regular reporting and to provide additional analysis on adjustments to campaign strategy.
- Work with coalition partners as needed on joint project work.
- Collaborate with Regional Campaign Directors, Director of Digital Organizing, and relevant stakeholders to develop paid digital strategies aimed at advancing the goals of the 2018 campaign plan.
- Work closely with Political Media team and others to ensure that copy reflects most up-to-date research and message.
- Work collaboratively with national and affiliate stakeholders to define their needs, and lead the quest to meet those needs through digital campaigns.
- Other duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS / TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of digital & social media experience with political, advocacy and/or nonprofit organizations, with at least one year of experience managing paid digital campaigns.
- Experience developing paid digital plans.
- Excellent communication (written & verbal) skills.
- Knowledge of social media, paid digital campaigns and production of digital materials (written, graphical and video).
- Solid project management skills.
- Knowledge of issue advocacy campaigns, political campaigns and organizing.
PERSONAL QUALITIES /OTHER ATTRIBUTES
- Broad experience in managing social media -- Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
- Proven track record of working online to organize diverse supporters and constituencies, including African-American, Latino and LGBT individuals is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple "priority" projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to gain buy-in from multiple parties in a collaborative environment.
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines and deliverables with quick turnarounds.
- Thrives in a campaign style environment with "rapid fire" deadlines and responses.
