A campaign for a highly targeted house seat in the Texas House of Representatives is seeking a Campaign Manager. This will be a competitive general election in a heavily Democratic district in Houston that has an incumbent Republican. In 2016 Hillary won this district by 16 points.
Our goal is to bring someone on by the end of March. We are looking for high level of self-motivation and a proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively; Ability to work well with diverse groups and populations; Dedication and ability to work flexible hours; Capacity to engage and inspire a variety of audiences.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee and implement all communications, and field efforts as well as working with the candidate and consultant to map out an overall strategy.
· Manage the Candidate's schedule.
· Planning and executing campaign events as well as staffing the Candidate at various events.
- Manage voter targeting through NGP/VAN
- Develop and manage a campaign budget
- Direct strategy and campaign tactics
· Work with the candidate to identify, interview, and hire additional staffers.
· Recruiting and managing interns and volunteers
- Write press releases and engage with the media when needed
- Perform miscellaneous campaign tasks, with the goal of maximizing candidate time devoted to voter contact
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree
· Must be well-organized, professional, and punctual
· Candidate must have strong writing and strong communications skills
· Candidate must be willing to work long hours
· At least one cycle of paid campaign experience (preferably as a Field Director or Campaign Manager)
· Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, NGP and VAN.
· Must have a functioning laptop, reliable transportation, and valid Driver's License.
Compensation
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. A win-bonus will be included in the Campaign Manager's contract equal to two-month's salary.
