Congressional Candidate in Pennsylvania Seeks Communications Director
A Democratic congressional candidate in a competitive open seat is seeking a Communications Director. The Communications Director will work closely with the candidate and the campaign manager.
Duties:
- Serve as on the record spokesperson for the campaign
- Work closely with the candidate and campaign manager to understand his vision and write and execute the communications plan
- Manage day-to-day communications and press operations
- Develop and foster relationships with local, state, and national press
- Assist with all social media accounts, updating throughout the day
- Develop and crystalize key messages for each of our core audiences
- Write and edit materials, including: speeches, press releases, talking points, issue statements, etc.
- Plan and manage media-facing events
- Establish metrics for evaluation and measuring success
Qualifications/Skills:
- At least 3 years working in political campaigns, congressional communications, or public relations, with measurable achievements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced setting with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to relocate to the region (required if not local) and work campaign hours
- Excellent organizational and managerial skills
- Ties to Pennsylvania preferred, but not required
