LEAD Ohio – Executive Director
Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Ohio is seeking a full-time Executive Director to run and oversee LEAD's finances, program and operations. This person would work closely with the LEAD Ohio Executive Board and allies throughout the state.
The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to fundraise from a diverse set of funding streams. Additionally, he or she will be committed to a set of progressive values, prioritize competing organizational interests and engage a diverse set of allies and stakeholders. An ideal candidate will also be dedicated to the mission of LEAD Ohio and committed to grow long-term in the position with the organization.
About LEAD Ohio
LEAD Ohio is the premier leadership development organization in Ohio, leading a unified effort to identify, empower and support progressive leaders throughout the state. LEAD seeks to improve the social and economic well-being of Ohioans by recruiting and preparing candidates and leaders, in every corner of the state, to champion progressive policies. LEAD Ohio predominately operates as a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization, but also has several affiliate organizations. The ED will also serve as the leader of these affiliate organizations.
Job Responsibilities
The LEAD Ohio Executive Director (ED) would ideally be located in Columbus, Ohio. The ED would report to an Executive Board and be responsible for the following:
· Raise both operational and program funds, as well as maintain LEAD's budget and spending priorities, including meetings with donors and the creation of LEAD promotional materials
· Work with the LEAD Ohio Executive Board to determine the strategic priorities and major activities for the organization
· Plan and execute LEAD's training calendar and curricula for leaders, potential candidates and candidates
· Work with the LEAD Ohio Executive Board, stakeholders and other allies to recruit and support leadership and candidate recruitment throughout the state – including support of both LEAD's commitment to increasing the diversity of progressive leaders as well as our strategic candidate pipeline work
· Build and maintain support among allies and stakeholders, including work with LEAD Ohio's Executive Board
· As needed, supervise any LEAD Ohio staff and interns, manage consultants, as well as supervise the day-to-day operations of LEAD Ohio
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who have a proven record of demonstrated follow-through, project management skills, relationship-building and leadership. You should possess the following qualities:
· A proven track record and experience of successful fundraising
· A demonstrated commitment to progressive values and organizations
· At least two election cycles of campaign experience, working at various levels of a campaign
· Experience at managing multiple large scale projects or running an organization
· Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in an organized manner – following through on each of your projects
· An ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with and among a broad group of stakeholders, including the ability to be supervised by a diverse board, while working independently
· Willingness to travel throughout the state, including access to transportation and ability to travel when required
Compensation is highly competitive and will be individually based on qualifications and experience.
