Lightfoot for Chicago - Field Organizer
Lightfoot for Chicago is seeking resumes for qualified candidates interested in serving as field organizers.
Lori Lightfoot is running for mayor of Chicago. She grew up in a low-income family and worked her way through school to become an accomplished lawyer, police reform advocate, and leader in several city departments, where she supported small businesses and improved emergency response. Lori's experiences have prepared her to run our city with a commitment to uplifting every neighborhood, a passion for quality education, and a dedication to making sure every person can thrive—regardless of who they are, who they know, or who they love. If elected, Lori will be the first African American woman and first LGBT person to serve as mayor of Chicago.
The ideal candidate is committed to Lori's vision for the city and is an adaptable and energetic person who can help grow a movement of volunteers and supporters. Organizers will work to develop the grassroots momentum we've been building for the past 6 months.
Responsibilities:
Establish relationships with current volunteer base, recruit and manage new volunteers for events and voter contact
Build a robust volunteer infrastructure that will allow the campaign to communicate with and persuade voters across the city
Build relationships with local activists, leaders, and community groups.
Plan and manage community meetings in your turf
Qualifications:
Great time management, organizational, and communication skills
Experience with developing strong ties in a community
Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work environment
Discipline and a solutions-oriented attitude toward organizing
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is preferred
