A potential Presidential campaign is seeking a Director of Digital Fundraising to create and implement an innovative, ambitious online fundraising plan. The campaign's online giving program is at the core of its fundraising philosophy, and continuing to grow it is vital to the organization's success.
The director will work to sustain and build on an organization-wide commitment to its small dollar program, as well as increase revenue through all online channels, including email, social, SMS, and web. The Director will work closely with both the Communications and Fundraising / Development teams to convert website, social media, SMS, and email audiences to donors; to build out an aggressive and ambitious direct donate advertising program; and to significantly build our monthly donor and merch programs.
Responsibilities
Develop, monitor, refine, and reach substantial fundraising projections.
Develop and oversee the implementation of online fundraising campaigns, including rapid response opportunities, monthly giving, and other special appeals across all digital channels, including web, social, SMS, and email to raise several million dollars in 2019.
Quickly learn tone, style, and message across all platforms (email, online advertising, SMS, social media, website, etc.) to accurately and effectively communicate fundraising asks through both writing and editing.
In coordination with the Data and Development Teams, develop and analyze reports to track performance of the small dollar giving program.
Required Qualifications
4-6 years of relevant professional experience, with 5+ years, or 3 cycles, of digital fundraising experience, including development of strategy and projections, as well as implementation and proven record of meeting ambitious targets.
Experience managing a digital advertising program and significant budget to grow an email list and acquire new donors.
Extensive and diverse experience writing and editing copy for digital audiences across email, SMS, websites, and social media.
Solid understanding of digital best practices for engagement, including but not limited to: testing, optimization, digital marketing, and advertising.
Experience with email systems (including ActionKit, Blue State Digital, NGP), audience segmentation and data integration, and online fundraising platforms (such as ActBlue).
Proven ability to work effectively across departments and to build consensus for ideas, strategies, and projections among key stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and the ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
A high level of expertise in digital fundraising combined with willingness and ability to formulate a plan and personally implement down to the smallest details.
Demonstrated skill in managing staff.
Cultural competency and experience writing for many audiences about social justice issues, especially racial justice and immigrant rights.
Proactive; creative; thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications
Ability to create graphics through tools like Photoshop and Canva.
Experience with HTML, CSS.
Experience with Salesforce or NGP highly desirable.
