About the Campaign

This campaign is for a young, progressive candidate running countywide in Fairfax County. The position sought is heavily involved in criminal justice issues, and the candidate is an experienced advocate for reform and progressive causes. The campaign is seeking a full-time Field Director to organize volunteers and manage an aggressive, grassroots campaign ahead of the June 11th Democratic Primary.

Expected start date: February 25, 2019

 

Duties of the Position

·         Recruit volunteers through call-time.

·         Manage volunteer database.

·         Manage field interns.

·         Set door-knocking and phone-banking goals.

·         Give updates to campaign team at weekly meetings.

·         Staff the candidate at various events.

·         Act as surrogate for the campaign to increase volunteer base.

·         Work with endorsing groups to set up Days of Action.

 

Requirements

·         Committed to progressive values and social justice.

·         At least 1 cycle of experience in field campaigns.

o   Experience in NoVA preferred.

·         Ability to commute to Fairfax County.

·         Ability to work 40 hours a week.

·         Run weekly canvasses in targeted areas.

·         Extensive NGP/VAN knowledge.

·         BA in Political Science or related degree (Recommended but not required).

 

Pay commensurate with experience.
