Executive Assistant

The Position 
Relay is hiring an executive assistant to provide administrative and programmatic support to the CEO and other executives. This is a full time position with salary, competitive benefits, and participation in an employee stock option pool. 
 
Responsibilities 
• Compile and process expense reports for the CEO and other executives
• Manage scheduling and make travel arrangements for the CEO and other executives
• Organize logistics for company retreats and team meetings (locations, food, etc.)
• Post job announcements and provide other HR/operations support
• Draft partner agreements, presentations, and internal organizational communications
• Other strategic projects at the direction of the CEO
 
Qualifications 
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: 
 
• Experience and proven competence with administrative work
• Experience working in high speed, complex environments
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfortable with phone, screen-share, and in-person presentations
• A demonstrated interest and involvement in progressive politics
• Experience and/or comfort working remotely
 
While experience matters, we  believe that most skills can be learned, and we care as much about work ethic, creativity, determination, and a shared commitment to progressive politics, customer service, and a high standards / low drama workplace. 
 
Location 
This position is located in the SF Bay Area. While Relay is a remote workplace, our CEO and finance manager are located in Oakland, CA. The executive assistant may be asked to do location-specific tasks, such as pick up mail, manage storage of equipment and conference materials, and arrange for printing and shipping.  
 
Compensation
• $50k - $60k salary
• Health / dental / vision benefits competitive with similarly situated companies 

• Participation in employee stock option pool 

• 3 weeks of vacation time in year 1 and 2, with increases thereafter  

 
About Relay 
Relay operates a peer-to-peer text messaging platform (Relay) and telephone dialing tool (the Relay Dialer) that political campaigns and other organizations use for large scale 1-to-1 communication with their members and supporters. Relay has worked with more than 1,000 clients since launching in August 2016 and has been profitable from day one.

Relay was launched by veterans of the Bernie Sanders distributed organizing team. We built Relay to improve on the tools we used running Text for Bernie and the Bernie Dialer, and we're most excited about helping progressive politicians and organizations use our software. We also believe in building a sustainable, successful business, and are actively expanding into other markets that could benefit from this technology, including working with more than 50 educational institutions.
