Digital Department Positions
The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic Governors, is seeking to fill several positions within the Digital Department for the 2019-2022 election cycle. The Digital Department is responsible for the DGA grassroots fundraising program, creating all digital content in support of Democratic Governors and Democratic Gubernatorial campaigns, and coordinated with campaigns to enhance their digital communications while also providing support to other departments within DGA. Candidates who are comfortable handling the following responsibilities and have the appropriate skillsets at the deputy level, associate level, and assistant level are encouraged to apply.
General Responsibilities of the Digital Department
· Execution of the DGA grassroots fundraising program by means of email, online advertising, direct mail, telemarketing, SMS and other channels;
· Growth and management of all grassroots fundraising audiences through paid and organic list growth strategies;
· Active management of all digital communications channels including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube with the goal of promoting Democratic Governors and Democratic Gubernatorial Candidates while holding Republican Governors and Republican Gubernatorial Candidates accountable;
· Production and promotion of state-based digital multimedia projects including design, video, website development, and online copy writing;
· Providing guidance and advice to incumbent Democratic Governors and Democratic Gubernatorial campaigns on a wide range of digital programs including Fundraising, Digital Communications, and Digital Advertising;
- Support other special projects, assignments, and tasks in collaboration with DGA leadership and other DGA departments.
General Qualifications
· Experience managing successful, large-scale, online fundraising operations for Democratic political campaigns, political committees, and/or like-minded organizations;
· The ability to recognize a meaningful news story and communicate it in a way that fits within the DGA's greater political landscape and narrative strategy;
· Strong organizational skills, attention to consistency/detail, and written and verbal communications skills;
· Proven familiarity with political and digital best practices;
· Proven ability to work collaboratively under tight deadlines;
· Familiarity managing online advertising platforms such as Google, Facebook, and others;
· Familiarity managing social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others;
· Experience writing for direct response, including email, ad writing, and social media platforms;
· Experience creating and reviewing timely and inspiring digital content such as websites, images, video, etc.;
· Familiarity with tracking performance and analytics for optimizing and reporting;
· Experience with Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator and Apple software and products to produce engaging graphics and video on a quick timeline which include drafting storyboards and scripts, while performing research and editing to produce video projects from start to finish;
· Demonstrated interest and commitment to master emerging technologies;
· Demonstrated interest in politics and a commitment to advancing the principles and goals of the nation's Democratic Governors.
The position is based in downtown Washington, DC and comes with full health care benefits. Compensation is commensurate with the position and experience.
