A DC-based Democratic research and policy shop is looking for a research associate to support an expansive slate of federal, state, and local races for the 2019/2020 cycle. This is a great growth opportunity for a motivated individual looking for a career in campaigns or legislative politics. The chosen candidate can expect to work in a wide variety of research areas, ranging from analyzing press hits to public records research, reviewing legislative votes, FOIA work, and much more, in addition to ongoing support for our campaigns. This position is based in Washington, D.C.
The ideal candidate:
- Can power through thousands of Nexis clips without breaking a sweat
- Knows the difference between an MTR and an amendment
- Reads Playbook, Axios AM, and Daily Kos' Election Digest every morning, but understands how happy the Washington Post is with Chris Cillizza at CNN
- Loves figuring out creative solutions to complex puzzles
- Has great writing skills along with excellent attention to detail
- Has a passion for Democratic politics and political and policy research
Campaign and/or political experience preferred, but not required. Graduating college students eligible to apply.
