About the DCCC: 

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, research support and management consulting. In addition, the DCCC's Independent Expenditure supports these campaigns with television, radio and other voter contact efforts. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. We look for talented and hardworking campaign professionals who are committed to fortifying and expanding our new Democratic House majority.

 

Position Summary: 

The DCCC is seeking an experienced, strategic communicator to be the Director of Surrogates and Media Affairs for the 2020 cycle. This job will be based primarily in Washington, DC.

 

The Director's role will be to work with national television bookers, producers and on-air talent to pitch and book TV interviews for a variety of Democratic leaders. Additionally, the Director will coordinate work with allies and surrogates to engage them regularly in order to amplify our message, providing committee updates and other messaging guidance. The director's primary goal will be to ensure House Democrats are generating and amplifying their message to effectively break into the 24/7 media cycle. The ideal candidate will have experience working with national television media and pre-established contacts.

Requirements


Excellent communications skills, strong multitasking abilities, a working knowledge of national television media, the ability to condense complex topics into concise and focused talking points, and a good sense for when opportunities arise.
