Early States Director
Inslee for America is seeking an Early States Director to oversee state-based campaigns in early primary states on behalf of the Inslee for America campaign.
Position Summary: The Early States Director will develop and implement a plan to win primaries in targeted states. This role will include hiring in-state staff, developing state specific campaign plans, managing in-state senior staff, coordinating with the other major departments of the headquarters campaign team and collaborating with campaign leadership on priorities and resource allocation. To succeed, the Early States Director will need to be self-motivated, experienced in campaign management, political outreach, and staff management. The job duties are dynamic and will change as priorities and strategy evolve. Applicants with significant prior campaign experience and presidential campaign experience will be given preference.
Early States Director job responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing an Early States program
- Hiring in-state campaign staff
- Managing state campaign directors
- Political outreach and engagement with state stakeholders
- Coordinate with campaign leadership on communications, digital, and voter contact strategies in early states
- Managing early state campaign events principal and surrogate travel
- Travel is required
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum requirement and job skills:
- 8+ years experience in campaign management
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Strong planning and strategic skills
- Staff management experience, specifically grassroots organizing and political staff management
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in VAN, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Docs
- Strong passion for progressive causes and issues – especially climate change.
- Enthusiasm for political campaigns and ability to execute tasks within a team dynamic
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, learn quickly, and accept constructive criticism

Salary: Ranges between $7500 to $9500 per month, and is commensurate with experience.
