About the DCCC: The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, research support and management consulting. In addition, the DCCC's Independent Expenditure supports these campaigns with television, radio and other voter contact efforts. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. We look for talented and hard-working campaign professionals who are committed to electing more Democrats and protecting the House majority.
Position Summary: The Research Department at the DCCC conducts opposition research projects, rapid response, and proactive attacks on Republican incumbents and challengers, and helps campaigns with paid media, polling, policy questions, and other campaign activities. In this fast-paced office, the ability to multi-task while remaining detail-oriented is a must. For this position, previous tracking experience is required, along with good managerial and organizational skills.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
• Hiring, training, and managing trackers;
• Training and advising DCCC staff and campaigns on tracking best practices;
• Managing communication between DCCC staff and trackers to flag potential tracking opportunities;
• Developing reporting systems for trackers to communicate their work to campaign teams;
• Managing incoming footage, ensuring video is archived, and elevating relevant footage;
• Assisting in the development and management of the process for sending and tracking public records requests, for archiving responses, and for disseminating relevant information to appropriate DCCC staff;
• Updating and developing training materials for how to deal with trackers to campaigns and candidates;
• Other duties as needed.
Requirements
Required Skills:
• Previous political campaign tracking experience required, with at least one cycle of experience working with tracking footage, primary source documents, rapid response, or similar experience;
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
• Self-motivation, the ability to work independently, as well as a strong commitment to teamwork;
• Organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines a must;
• Familiarity with public records requests, analyzing primary source documents, and other basic tracking tasks required.
• Spanish proficiency is a plus, but not required.
