Organizing Director
The Democratic Party of Virginia is hiring an Organizing Director to build and manage a robust organizing team for the 2019 General Assembly elections. We are looking for a passionate, tactful, hard working individual who is committed to helping Democrats take the majority back in this year's most hotly contested state legislative races.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop and oversee Take the Majority Organizing plan
Overall management of Organizing staff located in regional pods throughout the commonwealth.
Help create and manage all regional pod organizing plans.
Implement strong statewide team culture that empowers all staff in each regional pod.
Provide weekly updates on progress of all regional pods commonwealth wide to the Coordinated Director and Virginia's House and Senate Democratic Caucus Executive Directors.
Coaching Regional Pod Leadership and holding them accountable to pod- and individual-level goals.
Leading internal communications with organizing staff.
Ensure staff learn core skills and continue to learn and develop over time by writing and implementing statewide training program.
Required Skills and Background
Four or more cycles of campaign experience, with at least three cycles managing staff
Experience with setting and meeting data driven benchmarks
Proficiency in VAN and Microsoft programs particularly Excel and Power Point
The ability and willingness to work long hours and weekends
Preferred Background and Experience
Familiarity with Virginia
This is a full-time position requiring a full-time commitment starting as soon as possible. Salary commensurate with experience. Position will include medical, vision and dental insurance benefits at no cost to the Organizing Director. Extensive travel throughout the commonwealth is to be expected; reliable transportation is a must.
