Pod Directors
The Democratic Party of Virginia is hiring Pod Directors to manage a robust organizing, data and digital program for the 2019 General Assembly elections. We are looking for a passionate, tactful, hard working individuals who are committed to helping Democrats take the majority back in this year's most hotly contested state legislative races.
Tasks and Responsibilities
-Conduct weekly meetings with each campaign manager in their pod
-Conduct daily meeting with all pod staff to cover organizing goals, political landscape, data input, etc.
-Report daily metrics and team performance up to the Organizing Director
-Help implement, train and manage organizing program and staff within their pod.
-Develop and maintain a positive and communicative relationships with local Democratic Committees, partner organizations and Grassroots groups
Required Skills and Background
- Two or more campaign cycles of organizing or digital experience
- Proficiency in VAN and Microsoft programs particularly Excel
- Strong communicative and team building skills
- The ability and willingness to work long hours and weekends
Preferred Background and Experience
- Familiarity with Virginia politics
- Prior staff management skills
This is a full-time position requiring a full-time commitment starting as soon as possible through November 2019. Salary commensurate with experience. Position will include medical, vision and dental insurance benefits at no cost to Pod Directors. Extensive travel throughout each region is to be expected; reliable transportation is a must.
