About ASAP
The Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP) prevents wrongful deportations by connecting asylum-seeking families to community support and emergency legal aid. We provide rapid representation at a distance to families who cross the border seeking safety in the United States. ASAP is the only nonprofit organization that provides legal aid to asylum seekers regardless of where they are located in the United States. Opportunity
ASAP seeks an Executive Assistant to join our team! The Executive Assistant will work closely with ASAP's Co-Executive Directors to help grow this young organization and ensure its long-term sustainability. The Executive Assistant must be fluent in Spanish, detail oriented, and an excellent writer. Their responsibilities will include providing administrative support to ASAP's Co-Executive Directors and creating public-facing content in Spanish and English.
This position is full-time with excellent benefits. ASAP operates as a remote workplace, and the location of this position is flexible. Responsibilities
• Ensure that invoices, reimbursements, and credit card transactions are coded appropriately.
• Maintain internal systems to efficiently track and manage donors and supporters.
• Handle external communications, including communicating with donors and
responding to general inquiries.
• Finalize public-facing resources for asylum seekers in Spanish.
• Ensure compliance with grant agreements by timely submitting reports and
fulfilling other requirements.
• Proofread and potentially draft funding proposals and grant reports.
• Draft e-mails, blog posts, and social media posts.
• Maintain software and accounts for ASAP.
• Assist with set up of laptops and phones for remote staff.
• Order office supplies.
Required Qualifications
• Commitment to ASAP's mission of preventing deportations of asylum seekers across the United States.
• Fluency in oral and written English and Spanish.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to think creatively, take initiative, and be flexible.
• Strong writing and oral communication skills.
• Comfort with technology and ability to problem-solve in the face of technical challenges.
• Completion of a Bachelor's degree.
Additional Helpful Qualifications:
• Familiarity with and contributions to the immigrants' rights movement.
• Relevant work experience, including in nonprofit operations or development.
• Graphic design skills.
• Additional language skills.
