About Us

FogLamp is a rapidly expanding digital-first content studio based in Washington, DC, and Oakland, CA. We're dedicated to breaking the silos campaigns and organizations have built up between media channels (email, ads, social, video). We build and execute unified content strategies in partnership with our clients; email isn't separate from social media, TV isn't separate from digital video, and listbuilding ads aren't separate from persuasion advertising or organic posts. 


We work with Democratic and progressive candidates up and down the ballot, as well as brands and nonprofits seeking creative, engaging digital campaigns to make change. We actively seek to work with candidates and organizations that support issues impacting women and people of color and promote science, technology, and related fields.


About the Job

We're hiring a Strategy Associate to work alongside our team to create delivering high-quality, voice-driven content for our clients. They will be responsible for drafting, editing, and producing digital content -- across all channels -- for their assigned clients. 


This position is based in Washington, DC, with a salary of $45,000, annually. We also have a generous benefits package, including 100% employer-covered healthcare.


Responsibilities

  • Content writing: Draft and edit email, advertising, and social media content that is timely, creative, and authentic

  • Production: Manage the production process for approved email content -- staging, QA testing, segmenting -- and building forms (donation pages, surveys, petitions) in relevant systems

  • Teamwork: Collaborate and brainstorm with teammates to develop new, creative ideas, solve challenges, and provide even better service to our clients

  • Project management: Assist in managing content calendars to ensure content is drafted and delivered to the client on schedule

  • Other projects as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Alignment with our firm's mission: We work with progressive nonprofits and Democratic campaigns to deliver high-quality, voice-driven content strategy.

  • Strong writer with an ability to adapt to different client voices 

  • The ability to balance multiple projects with varying deadlines

  • Interest and ability to learn quickly and work in a collaborative environment

  • Strong attention to detail


Experience with any or all of the following is preferred, but not required:

 

  • 0-2 years experience, professional or internship, writing copy for primarily digital channels including email, social media, video, and/or websites

  • CRMs such as Action Network, ActionKit, Blue State Digital, EveryAction

  • Other platforms such as ActBlue, Mobile Commons, or website CMSs

  • Familiarity with CSS, HTML, Javascript, or Adobe Creative Suite
