Hard Knocks Strategies, LLC is seeking motivated and qualified individuals to fill the role of Campaign Finance Director. The Campaign Finance Director will oversee all financial aspects of the campaign and drive the campaign's financial strategy and planning. This position reports directly to the Managing Director.
Hard Knocks Strategies, LLC is a Statewide Political and Public Affairs consulting firm that specializes in direct voter contact on behalf of progressive candidates and causes.
The Campaign Finance Director will serve a vital leadership role within the organization. Applicants for the position must possess exceptional communication skills at all levels, critical thinking skills, strong leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of all campaign- specific financial laws and regulations. They must be willing to be a part of the change the which to see in the state of Florida. All applicants must possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Prior Campaign Finance Director experience is strongly preferred.
Finance Director Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Take overall control of the campaign's accounting/finance function.
Contribute fully to the development of campaign strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
Ensure that campaign financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
Lead and develop finance teams.
Oversee all audit and internal control operations.
Develop the campaign fundraising strategy and manage relationships with partners and investors.
Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance.
Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives.
Ensure adherence to campaign financial laws and guidelines.
Work with senior teams to grow the campaign, formulating strategies and plans.
Ensure campaign budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed.
Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
Campaign finance: manage campaign policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, disposals and acquisitions, as appropriate.
Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including customers and advisors.
Experience & Education
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
A minimum of 2 years of Campaign Finance leadership experience
Proficiency in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP, QuickBooks, etc.)
Skills
In-depth knowledge of campaign finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
Solid knowledge of campaign financial analysis and forecasting
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
A strong commitment to progressive values, including diversity, equality for all and economic justice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Miscellaneous
● Willingness to work long hours and weekends.
● A valid driver's license, reliable transportation and an ability to relocate as needed.
