ABD Direct is a full-service direct response fundraising communications consulting firm. For more than 30 years, we have fostered dedicated partnerships with non-profit charitable, advocacy, and political organizations, pushing the boundaries of direct response and grassroots fundraising. ABD Direct has a long history of developing integrated programs and forward-thinking direct response fundraising solutions. We've worked on President Obama's '08 and '12 campaigns as well as campaigns for Senators Durbin, Udall, Hagen and Secretaries Kander and Lundergan Grimes.
We're expanding our digital department and are looking for a Deputy Digital Political Director to join our team. The ideal candidate is creative, dedicated, energetic, and a self-starter with a strong passion for progressive politics.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with company leadership to develop a strategy to cultivate business from existing relationships, expand existing clients, generate qualified leads from new clients, and assist in pitches
- Serve as a senior account lead, overseeing program direction, strategy, and goals
- Help with staff management as the team grows and assist the Senior Digital Director in acquiring talent and expanding the department
- Write or contribute to strategic briefs and help lead brainstorming sessions
- Manage client relationships as well as relationships with other vendors
- Oversee acquisition and advertising strategies and optimization
- Launch and manage Facebook and Google Search ads and recommend future strategies based on results
- Develop and streamline internal processes to ensure efficiency and high quality control standards
- Work to integrate direct mail and digital strategies to improve the donor experience
- Engage with industry stakeholders and stay abreast of emerging technology, and represent ABD Direct at industry events, both through attendance and presentations
- Assist with and oversee email writing and production
- Build fundraising projections and manage budgets
Experience and Qualifications
- 4-7 years experience in digital fundraising or online marketing for progressive candidates and/or organizations
- Experience managing all aspects of email campaigns, advocacy programs, and social media
- Significant client-facing experience
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Demonstrated understanding of email and digital advertising best practices and benchmarks
- Significant experience implementing and optimizing ads on Facebook Business Manager and Google AdWords
- Experience with budgeting and building out accurate fundraising projections
- Mastery of CRM platforms and knowledge of HTML/CSS needed to set up, troubleshoot, and launch emails
- Ability to develop and review reporting materials to best optimize online strategy
- Actively participates in developing client strategy, suggesting new creative ideas and strategies to test and optimize
- Adept at planning, prioritizing, organizing, following through deadline-oriented projects
