New Hampshire Organizer Position Description



Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's 2020 presidential campaign is seeking Organizers in New Hampshire. Organizers will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers for the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary. Organizers will be the local face of Senator Gillibrand's campaign, and they will build and maintain strong personal relationships with volunteers, community leaders, and local Democratic groups. The ideal candidates for this position are hardworking, enthusiastic, passionate about electing Senator Gillibrand, and have experience in organizing, political, retail, sales, and/or team leadership.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Recruit, train, and manage teams of volunteers to build a strong statewide grassroots organization.

  • Lead volunteers to persuade, identify, turnout supporters to the New Hampshire Primary on February 11, 2020.

  • Identify, train, and develop volunteer leaders to build a lasting volunteer infrastructure.

  • Work with the Regional Organizing Director to make a plan to hit goals, including:

    • Volunteer recruitment

    • Team building

    • Door knocks

    • Phone calls

    • Commit to Vote cards collected

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Strong commitment to Democratic ideals and passionate about electing Kirsten Gillibrand. 

  • One cycle of organizing in electoral politics, progressive politics, or advocacy work is preferred, but not required..

  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Technologically savvy and able to learn campaign technology.

  • Available to work long and varying campaign hours including weekends, nights, and holidays.

  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required.


Work Environment: This job operates from a New Hampshire field office, a casual environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, projectors, photocopiers, and printers.


Travel Expectations: Travel throughout New Hampshire is expected.
