There are two kinds of people in the world: people who love fundraising and people who don't.
You might love fundraising if you refresh ActBlue constantly after an email you created goes out. You might love fundraising if your hobbies include reading fundraising emails after hours and assessing their effectiveness. You might love fundraising if you've bookmarked the Facebook ads archive to see the latest on what presidential candidates are doing in their ad buys.
Or you might love fundraising if your favorite campaign memories include that day you raised $20k in call time all in credit cards over the phone. Or that event you put together with a killer host committee that actually all came through on their raise commitments because of how you motivated them in the lead up to the event!
Call us crazy, but we don't care whether you loved raising money online or off. But we DO care that you love the thrill of setting and then hitting a massive goal.
We're looking for digital fundraisers AND we're looking for offline fundraisers who want to put those skills to use in digital fundraising. We raise money online a whole lot differently than most digital fundraising firms. More on that below.
Regardless of your background, you realize fundraising is a puzzle. It's about figuring out how to motivate people. It's about figuring out what's most compelling about a candidate and how best to message that to your audience. It's about persistence: trying, trying, trying again. And it's about pivoting: trying something entirely new.
You'll have a team of writers, designers, coders, and data analysts ready to help. But you've got a big job—raising millions of dollars over the internet. You'll have to be data-driven. You'll have to really understand numbers. And you'll have to understand messaging. You'll have to be or become fluently digital. You'll have to be supremely organized.
One more thing: You'll have to really love your clients—their quirks, their pet peeves, their preferred communication styles. And you'll have to identify with their needs and frustrations to navigate the internal Basecamp team. Your job is to fall in love with and then deliver for your clients. Every week, we'll ask you, "How happy are your clients?" And your job is to say, "Very very happy."

About Basecamp Strategy:
Whew! That was a lot about you. Here's what you need to know about us:
We win tough races and elect incredible people by raising our clients as much money as possible online. But we're a different kind of digital fundraiser. We motivate with honesty and authenticity. We're digital storytellers. And not only do candidates, donors, and voters prefer our style, we've seen time and again that this kind of content drives the strongest fundraising online.
The best digital strategies have yet to be invented and we're here to innovate. We're here to challenge assumptions and figure out what performs the best today, not what worked in 2012, 2014, 2016, or last May.
We're full members of our clients' teams and our mission is to support our candidates and their staffs in any way we can, because they're doing the hardest work there is: running and winning tough races.
And we can only do exceptional work if we have the best team in the business. We're a team of specialists. We're in awe of each other's talents. Every day, our editors look at our coders who look at our client leads, who look at our fundraisers, who look at our writers, who look back at or editors and we all say to each other: "I'm so glad I don't have your job, but I love mine."
A job here isn't for the faint of heart. Our work demands a lot of us, and we love delivering the best possible results for our clients, because the work of electing Democrats is too important to do it any other way. And because, above all else, we hate doing mediocre work.
Our approach has gotten us noticed and our team is growing and evolving quickly. No one is doing the same job they were doing six months ago, or even three months or a month ago. You'll be asked to learn quickly, and the moment you've nailed it we hope you'll be ready to learn something new. If you love a fast-paced environment, doing tremendously good work efficiently, thinking outside the box and figuring out how to go from great to incredibly great, then you'll love it here.
We work with clients up and down the ballot, including members of Congress like Rep. Abby Finkenauer, Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, and Rep. Chris Pappas, and Red to Blue challengers like Carolyn Long (WA-03). And we just helped elect the youngest mayor of Kansas City in more than a century.
Additional details:
Our office is located in Washington, D.C. We're deeply committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse work environment and supporting every member of our team. We want you to grow and excel here.
