Kamala Harris For The People is seeking Regional Organizing Directors (RODs) in California to help Kamala Harris win the Democratic nomination and the Presidency of the United States.
RODs are the face of our campaign in communities across California, responsible for building a powerful grassroots volunteer organization to identify, persuade and mobilize voters. Our For The People campaign will be positive and inclusive and will deeply empower volunteers to organize and win. We are looking for people who can:
- Develop, write and implement a comprehensive strategic regional organizing complement to the state organizing plan for building the grassroots movement in your turf that includes how you will achieve your goals and embodies the values and vision of the campaign.
- Prioritize and execute the relentless training of volunteers as the key to achieving the highest quality outcomes and empower and uplift volunteers to become true organizers in their own right.
- Be a respected voice for organizing in your region and forge strategic alliances with community and grasstops leaders, leveraging relationships to build support for and increase engagement with and investment in our campaign.
- Regularly and effectively communicate clear priorities and expectations up and down the chain.
- Set and manage daily/weekly priorities for your region to ensure not only the highest productivity possible, but also the highest quality volunteer engagement and voter contact results.
- Obsess about data integrity, institute accurate and timely reporting processes, and tightly monitor progress to goals and quality of outcomes to constantly assess the efficacy of the organizing program, always being prepared to iterate and adapt to improve performance.
- Challenge all assumptions; be guided and informed by data, results and input from the field.
- You embody qualities of integrity, openness, resilience, honesty, curiosity, inclusion, empowerment and collaboration. You can articulate a compelling and inspiring vision that motivates others.
- You possess a strong sense of humor. Fire, but no drama. A phenomenal work ethic. You are a skilled and swift problem solver. You are extremely well organized. Calm in a crisis, and with great instincts.
- You have a track record of successful leadership and management to achieve goals (minimum one cycle of campaign organizing experience; two+ cycles preferred).
- Proven ability to be both a highly collaborative teammate and to work independently.
- Strong desire to learn and a willingness to receive feedback and hold yourself accountable.
- Knowledge of the neighborhood team/snowflake model of campaign organizing.
- Experience in, excellence at and abiding love for training and investing in volunteers.
- Strong working knowledge of campaign technology and facility for learning new tools.
- Experience using CRM software (e.g. PDI, VoteBuilder) to understand and analyze performance, test and judge the efficacy of programs, and hold people you lead accountable to goals.
- Desire and ability to work long and sometimes irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
