Julián for the Future (the Campaign) is seeking dynamic, mission-driven and qualified individuals to serve as Organizers. The Organizer will be responsible for building our volunteer base and maintaining the energy and engagement of our supporters. This position is based in Iowa and is eligible for comprehensive health, vision, dental, and life insurance. Relocation assistance is available on a case-by-case basis.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying, training, and managing our volunteer base
- Growing and developing volunteer relationships, and relationships with community leaders and local Democratic activists
- Mobilizing volunteers and persuading voters to support Julián Castro's campaign
- Implementing strategies and systems that lead you to successfully meet daily and weekly organizing metrics, as well as maintain data integrity
- Organizing and execute successful house parties, canvasses, phone banks, and other organizing events
- Ensuring volunteer communications and meetings are well-facilitated and impactful
Previous organizing experience, paid or volunteer, is preferred but not required. Demonstrating an understanding of the political climate and issues important to Iowa is critical. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, good attention to detail, an entrepreneurial spirit, instinct for creative problem-solving and a good humored and collegial approach to working with other staff, volunteers and other stakeholders.
