First-time congressional candidate, with a common-sense Midwestern progressive platform, is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to fill the role of Finance Director.

 

Direct Report: Candidate, Campaign Manager

 

Responsibilities:

 

·        Raise the funds needed to allow the campaign to be successful

·        Oversee all aspects of a campaign finance program and associated data

·        Work with campaign manager to develop monthly and quarterly campaign finance goals & plans

·        Report on progress to Campaign Manager, Candidate, and Central Committee

·        Manage a dynamic finance plan as needed

·        Manage major fundraising events and be a small-dollar-baller

·        Develop, manage, and execute digital small-dollar fundraising strategy

·        Perform advance operations for all fundraising events, including travel as needed

·        Prepare for, schedule, and manage candidate call time

·        Work with Compliance Consultant to ensure proper reporting and accounting methods are employed

·        Maintain positive relationships with donors and build out Finance Committee


Experience & Requirements:

·        Minimum one cycle of campaign finance experience

OR

·        Two years non-profit fundraising experience

 

·        Experience staffing call time and assisting candidate in personal fundraising efforts

·        Creative and savvy political professional with strong ability to follow through in a consistent fashion

·        Work well in a team setting while remaining organized

·        Set metric goals with direct reports and follow through

·        Reliable means of transportation, access to a cell phone, and access to (or willingness to buy) a personal laptop

·        Willingness to relocate to congressional district

o   Telecommuting from Chicago is possible for the right candidate

·        Experience using Microsoft Office suite and Google Drive

·        Strong interpersonal and social skills

·        Work irregular hours and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

 

Preferred:

·        Intersectional perspectives are always valued

·        Chicago fundraising experience

·        Senior non-profit or Finance Director fundraising experience

·        Experience using Action Network and ActBlue
