Job Summary:

Julián for the Future (the Campaign) is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven and qualified individual to serve as the Policy Manager. The Policy Manager will be responsible for building and managing a network of policy advisors that advise the campaign, leading outreach with stakeholders including coalition partners, supporting the campaign with domestic and foreign policy priorities, and coordinating with the communications, political, digital, and other teams to represent the policy department. This position is based in San Antonio, Texas, and is eligible for comprehensive health, vision, dental, and life insurance. Relocation assistance is available on a case-by-case basis. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Developing policy priorities for the Julián for the Future campaign.
  • Coordinate teams of policy experts that advise the campaign and the candidate and build the team of policy experts in coordination with the candidate and senior staff.
  • Drafting memos for the candidate and other principals on policy priorities for events, interviews, and meetings.
  • Independently represent the campaign in outreach to stakeholders, policy experts, and advocates.
The Policy Manager should have direct experience with policy development and advocacy or implementation in both domestic and foreign policy. Demonstrating an understanding of the political context of policy positions is important and a successful candidate must possess exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, management skills, and creativity in policy development. The successful candidate will also demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and presence, instinct for creative problem-solving and a good humored and collegial approach to working with other staff, volunteers and other stakeholders.
