Position Summary:
The Vice President, Leadership Development and Design sets vision and direction for LEE's Leadership development workshops, programming and regional supports. Through the Leadership Development and Design (LDD) team, the Vice President will build on the current platform to ensure exceptional learning opportunities to enable members across the country to achieve tangible changes in education that better serve students. The Vice President oversees the design, execution, facilitation, and evaluation of our existing high-impact national programs to advance our members' skills and effectiveness in politics, policy, advocacy and organizing through online and in-person (blended) learning opportunities. It is essential the Vice President has deep alignment with LEE's core values and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) theory/development. A member of the LEE Leadership Team and reporting to the Senior Vice President, National Impact, the Vice President will be accountable for the overall strategy, performance and operations of LEE's 10 person LDD team.

Responsibilities:
Team Management and Financial Stewardship (40%)
- Set goals and lead the team to execute effectively and efficiently to goals including managing through the talent continuum
- Develop and manage annual budget and strategic goals that are aligned with organizational goals and mission
- Build an inclusive team culture that values diverse perspectives and inspires team members to produce high-quality output. Support the professional development of the team.
- Engage as a member of the LEE Leadership Team and NI Leadership Team
Leadership Development (40%)
- Work in collaboration with other teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation in developing new programming
- Consistently improve the quality of facilitation and delivery of our existing programs across all teams
- Oversee design, execution and evaluation of all in person workshops and regional leadership development
- Work in collaboration with all member-facing teams to align on strategy and goals
- Lead the team to gather and analyze outcome-oriented data related to leadership development programming and adjust programming in response
- Oversee program quality standards and ensure programs are driving conversion to leadership roles
- Lead/refine org-wide strategy around blended learning and DEI development
- Support the leadership development of staff, particularly around DEI principles
Set Vision & Strategy (20%)
- Set vision and strategy for LDD's work across the National Impact (NI) team to deliver high-impact national programs to advance our members' skills and effectiveness in politics, policy, advocacy and organizing
- Establish a clear vision and strategy for building and sustaining a team and working with partners across NI and other teams
- Lead the refinement of LEE's theory of adult learning and leadership development pedagogy grounded in DEI principles, incorporating online and blended learning approaches
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10 years of relevant work experience including demonstrated success in facilitating adult learning and program management in a mission-oriented setting
- Experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion theory/development and virtual/blended learning
- Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset; demonstrated experience leading growth and scale of programs
- Ability to set and achieve ambitious goals through creative problem solving and collaboration
- Extensive experience building and managing healthy and highly effective teams
- Excellent managerial, interpersonal and networking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team
- Strong, demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity & inclusion
- Deep passion for educational equity and belief in LEE's mission and theory of change
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree
- 6+ years of managing teams to exceed goals
- Leading and managing a geographically dispersed and/or start-up team
- Experience with any of LEE's pathways: Policy, Advocacy, Organizing or Elected leadership.

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. In addition, a comprehensive benefits package is included.
