Blue Leadership Collaborative - Team Leader

The Blue Leadership Collaborative (BLC) is expanding our program designed to retain top Democratic talent. BLC provides professional development and advanced learning to fellows committed to working as a campaign manager this cycle in several states.

 

Team Leaders for the BLC are experienced in Democratic politics, natural teachers, trainers or coaches, and are deeply committed to diversity and building the next generation of political leadership.

 

TEAM LEADERS: Team Leaders will be a part of the senior leadership team for this program. Leaders will also be a part of the Fellow selection process and will serve on the training team for the Winter cohort's learning program. Each Leader will work with a small group of Fellows to develop professional development plans, guide their work and serve as a mentor. Leaders will work with Fellows and a placement partner on an individualized placement learning project and are expected to engage with them on a daily and weekly basis.

Team Leaders will be a key part of a tight-knit, hardworking team of amazing people around the country working collaboratively to change the landscape of Democratic politics.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

·      Proven capability of leading teams to deliver results 


·      Management experience in politics, including preferably at state and local level 


·      Demonstrated passion for developing and coaching talent 


·      Experience in planning and project management 


·      Expertise in one of the following fields: communications, finance, data/analytics, digital 


·      A great attitude and the flexibility to be part of a team-building a new and different 
effort

RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Helping to secure quality placement opportunities for incoming Fellows (pre-program) 


·      Full-time participation in the intensive screening and interview process for Fellows 


·      Coordination and supervision of each Fellows' placement and learning project in your 
assigned group of Fellows, through regular check-ins and evaluations 


·      Participation in the cohort's training and learning program as a trainer, facilitator or 
subject matter expert, at the direction of the Training Team 


·      Weekly one-on-one meeting with each of the Fellows in your assigned group 


·      Regular group calls, check-ins and planning sessions 


·      Post-Fellowship evaluation and program debrief

 


ROLE LOGISTICAL DETAILS 


·      This is a full-time, or nearly-full-time, commitment located in program state, and in-state travel will likely be required 


·      Monthly compensation of $8,000/month for four months 


·      As this is a short-term intensive program, applicants are expected to be available to 
commit fully during the scheduled months of the program. Any currently-scheduled major time commitments (travel, vacation, scheduled time away) should be disclosed during the interview process for consideration

The Blue Leadership Collaborative's mission is to retain and empower future campaign leaders who are committed to excellence as managers, strategists, and humans. We provide professional development and leadership training to high-potential campaign managers, with an emphasis on women and people of color, to foster talent that better reflects our democracy.
