Kamala Harris For The People is seeking Regional Organizing Directors (RODs) in California to help Kamala Harris win the Democratic nomination and the Presidency of the United States. RODs are the face of our campaign in communities across California, responsible for building a powerful grassroots volunteer organization to identify, persuade, and mobilize voters. Our campaign will be positive and inclusive and will empower volunteers to organize and win. Applicants should be committed to Kamala Harris' values and be passionate about being members of the Kamala Harris team.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Working closely with and under the direction of the Organizing Director to develop and execute an organizing and electoral plan for their region to meet and exceed campaign goals
- Building a cohesive volunteer infrastructure through training and empowerment
- Interacting constructively with local activists and managing political relationships within your region
- Organizing events and representing the campaign in the community as a respected voice for organizing to increase engagement with our campaign in your region
- Regularly and effectively communicating clear priorities and expectations, ensuring not only the highest productivity possible, but also the highest quality volunteer engagement and voter contact
- Being diligent about data integrity, instituting accurate and timely reporting processes, and tightly monitoring progress and quality of outcomes to constantly assess the efficacy of your program
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills, highly organized, integrity, openness, resilience, the proven ability to manage many tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated and ready to work long hours, including nights and weekends
- Record of successful leadership and management to achieve goals (minimum one cycle of campaign organizing experience; two+ cycles preferred)
- Knowledge of the neighborhood team/snowflake model of campaign organizing
- The ability to communicate with diverse communities and leaders; bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
- Strong working knowledge of campaign technology and facility for learning new tools
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is required
