Summary
Bernie 2020 is seeking a motivated, dynamic Program Associate to join its Ballot Access and Delegates Team. The Program Associate will assist the Director of Ballot Access and Delegates in the important effort to qualify Senator Bernie Sanders for the ballot and to identify delegates across the country. The role will evolve over time, beginning primarily to support the traveling team overseeing the effort to collect signatures to put Senator Sanders on the ballot, and then transitioning to support a national delegate selection program.

Essential Duties:
  • Assist a team of traveling ballot access organizers with logistics, travel arrangements, and other administrative and operational needs as they collect signatures in the states.
  • Work closely with national team to implement volunteer quality control program for ballot access petition signatures.
  • Help maintain databases and trackers for national ballot access and delegates program.
  • Interface with volunteer leaders, elected officials, and community connectors interested in learning more about the delegates program.
  • Work with Director of Ballot Access and Delegates to establish a culture of communications with delegates as they come on board.
  • Assist Director of Ballot Access and Delegates with administrative tasks.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Qualifications:
  • Experience in an organizing role, including managing staff and volunteer leaders.
  • Desire to learn more about the delegates process.
  • A working knowledge of the structure of political campaigns and familiarity with VAN, NGP, and other databases.
  • Demonstrated experience in electoral, community, labor, or movement organizing.
  • Incredible attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Ability to remain a personable and friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment that may include long hours, nights, and weekends, and to remain calm under pressure.
  • Commitment to building strong relationships across race, gender, class, and other group identities, as well as an understanding of and self-awareness around the intersections of race, gender, class, and other identities, especially in regards to historically marginalized communities.
  • Team player who values building strong relationships with colleagues and collaborates effectively with other staff members.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with Zoom, Maestro, and other conference calling software.
  • Skilled user of Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Public speaking skills and/or experience leading trainings for medium-sized or large groups. 
Salary
$65,000
