Congressional race in PA-01 seeking an experienced Finance Director

A grassroots Democratic campaign in a high-profile Congressional district is seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead an aggressive finance operation, building upon a strong first quarter. The Finance Director is responsible for developing an aggressive finance plan and, ultimately, raising the money and cultivating the relationships necessary to win a Democratic primary and highly-competitive general election. The Finance Director will work closely with two finance staff, a team of consultants, and a candidate who has extensive fundraising experience in the nonprofit world.The Finance Director is in charge of keeping the candidate and campaign on track with fundraising goals, preparing for and managing call time, training and managing finance staff, overseeing fundraising events, and cultivating donor relationships. 


Responsibilities

 

Planning and Strategy

  • Create and implement an aggressive but achievable finance plan

  • Set fundraising goals (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly)

  • Develop a plan to maximize and expand our donor base

  • Develop and implement a fundraising events plan and calendar

  • Analyze fundraising; clearly identify and communicate areas of success and improvement

 

Fundraising and Compliance

  • Organize, manage, and, when necessary, staff candidate call time

  • Oversee digital and direct-mail fundraising streams

  • Collaborate with finance staff and volunteers to coordinate fundraising events & calendar

  • Develop an outreach plan to cultivate relationships with unions, PACS, and Members of Congress

  • Work with fundraising staff and our compliance firm to ensure that all campaign activities are in full compliance with FEC laws  

 

Leadership & Management

  • Manage and motivate our fundraising staff, call time program, and finance and host committees

  • Oversee and communicate all performance metrics (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly)

  • Protect call time hours

 

Desired qualities

  • Highly-organized, patient, flexible, detail-oriented, self-motivated, creative, collaborative

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and share fundraising experience and expertise

  • Experience fundraising on a Congressional campaign

  • Open to new ideas, strategies, and fundraising technologies

  • Access to a car

  • Fluency in campaign and call time software
