The BVM is seeking a State Coordinator who will be responsible for providing support to BVM's statewide partners as they as they mobilize voters as well as BVM's broader objective of advocating for racial justice and building power by centering Black love, Black culture and Black joy.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Coordinating ongoing communications with the network of BVM partner organizations in the target cities/counties. Such communications include Slack, Mobilize, e-mail discussions and/or conference calls.
• Assisting with planning and implementing in person convenings and/or training sessions. It is expected that there will be in person one multi-county convening and at least four webinar training opportunities.
• Assisting with identification and outreach to new partner organizations in the target counties.
• Coordinating social media content related to Florida efforts.
• Helping to plan BVM bus tours and/or special events in state/counties covered.
• Providing weekly updates to BVM senior staff (Political Director)
• Assisting with BVM regranting to community partner groups
Target Cities/Counties
• Philadelphia,
• Pittsburg/Allegheny,
• Harrisburg/Dauphin,
• Delaware County (Chester, Darby, Yeadon)
• Montgomery County (Norristown, Cheltenham, Ambler)
• Stroudsburg/Monroe
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years' experience in organizing and campaigning, issue advocacy, and/or political campaigns
• Experience managing campaigns and/or projects (in multiple counties preferred).
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative team environment; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt quickly.
• Commitment to progressive causes and community organizing experience a plus.
• Strong writing and verbal communications skills and close attention to detail
This position reports to: Director of Strategic Campaigns and Partnerships
Travel Requirements: Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time (based in Atlanta, GA)
Salary & benefits: Annual range of $40 – $48k, depending on experience, plus health benefits.
