Vice President, Content and Social

The National Park Foundation (NPF) is currently recruiting for a Vice President to direct and manage The Foundation's content + social portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for both strategy and content across all of The Foundation's social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. Incumbent will be expected to develop a comprehensive social program for The Foundation, designed specifically to raise the Foundation's brand awareness, enhance and support fundraising activities, grow and develop a community of national park champions and drive recognition of corporate partner participation. Reporting directly to the Chief, External Affairs, overseeing two staff members and working as a key leader with External Affairs and other Foundation counterparts, this position offers an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to drive visibility, reach and understanding on behalf of the National Park Foundation and make a significant impact on behalf of our national parks.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Devise and implement a comprehensive, goal-oriented social and brand strategy and program for the Foundation;

· Develop creative, compelling content, utilizing both internal assets and outside resources, as appropriate;

· Work as a key member of a cross functional team that delivers communications, marketing, government relations and corporate partnership development on behalf of the Foundation;

· Lead a team of two professionals and engage with outside consultants, as appropriate and affordable;

· Work closely with other owned resource managers (websites, e-newsletters, etc.) to ensure seamless integration between social, digital and all related efforts;

· As a part of overall social media program, develop and implement partnership strategy to provide explicit value to The Foundation's corporate partners.

· Demonstrate creative and effective ways to stretch budgets, making allocated dollars go further and do more;

· Liaise, as appropriate, with the social counterparts in the National Park Service;

· Develop and implement measurement program (key analytics) to determine ROI and track progress against key success criteria of brand awareness, fundraising, community building and corporate partner satisfaction for Board level review;

· Be a self-starter, able to independently and routinely interface with key leaders and stakeholders who can impact the outcome of Foundation efforts;

· Serve as a willing and participating member of a team of professionals in pursuit of a common set of goals.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

· Expert understanding of social media including audience identification and targeting, content development, platform utilization, community building, engagement strategies, measurement and more;

· Experience with defining, obtaining and utilizing key analytics to measure effectiveness and guide/adjust strategy;

· A demonstrated ABL (Always Be Learning) attitude toward work and life;

· Hard-working, detail oriented and service-minded;

· Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence;

· Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively (verbally and in writing);

· Ability to travel, as required;

· Belief in the mission of both the National Park Foundation and the National Park Service.

Preferred education and experience:

· College degree (B.A., B.S.) required.

· At least 10 years of related/relevant experience

· Previous not-for-profit experience is not required.
