About Leadership for Educational Equity

 Leadership for Educational Equity is a nonprofit leadership development organization inspiring and supporting a network of civic leaders to eradicate the injustice of educational inequity.

Through one-on-one coaching, fellowships, workshops, and resources, LEE works to develop and inspire its members individually and collectively, across all disciplines – as policy makers, advocates, elected leaders and community organizers. LEE membership is free and currently open to all TFA corps members and

Position Summary:

LEE seeks to maximize its impact as it develops and supports members to pursue civic leadership and eradicate the injustice educational inequity. The Director, Campaign Resources & Innovation will demonstrate a passion for and successful track record of campaign finance expertise and effective and efficient business operations development.

The Director, Campaign Resources & Innovation plays a critical role of maximizing resources for member candidates in campaigns at every level of government across the entire United States. The Director is a master of campaign finance, deeply knowledgeable of multiple ways to maximize LEE's investment in campaigns.

The Director will furthermore be a business operations expert, evaluating business processes across the organization and developing turnkey scaling platforms for efficiency and effectiveness. 

The ideal candidate is deeply invested in LEE's mission of ending the injustice of educational inequity, creatively and actively pursue solutions, thrive in a collaborative virtual environment, and must be a proven self-starter. The Director will report to the Vice President, Elected Leadership and work closely with the campaign, fundraising, and legal teams. 

Position Location: Flexible

Travel Requirements: 15%

Responsibilities:

Campaign Finance (45%)

  • Strategize effective channels to resources campaigns across the country
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Regional Impact, Policy and Community Impact, and Elected Leadership-Develop) and external partners for leadership support and economy of scale advantaged supports, e.g., candidate checklists, trainings, one-pagers, systems, platforms, etc.
  • Partner with Supporter Relations and the Office of the Executive Director teams to administer the Spark and Champions fundraising programs
  • Be the leading point of contact with Legal and Finance departments for all political contributions
  • Develop effective, efficient, expedient candidate onboarding system

Operations Improvement (40%)

  • Visions and creates alternative engagement strategies and tools that maximize LEE's support and development of members in multiple pathways
  • Works with leaders on the Elected Leadership, Policy and Advocacy, and Organizing Leadership teams to learn their goals and strategies to design and implement  innovative, intuitive platforms that scale support to members across multiple leadership pathways

Special Projects (15%)

  • Execute on electoral strategy
  • As assigned by VP, Elected Leadership

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 6 years relevant professional work experience, including 2-3 years experience and confidence engaging with campaign finance regulations and reporting
  • Ability to understand legislation, policies, and processes and explain in plain language to a variety of individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to research campaign finance contribution limits and reporting requirements
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional project management skills and ability to work independently and function effectively in a team environment
  • Experience in providing excellent client service in a high-volume work environment
  • Entrepreneurial and ability to easily adapt to innovations and changes in policies and
    procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and NGPVAN
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information and materials
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to design systems that drive toward efficiency
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to plan strategically, prioritize, and manage implementation of plans in fast-moving, changing environments
  • Flexible and committed to continuous learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or related graduate degree (e.g. supply chain, finance, accounting, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team
  • Strong, demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity & inclusion
  • Deep passion for educational equity and belief in LEE's mission and theory of change

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. In addition, a comprehensive benefits package is included.
