Position: Full-Time; Partially Remote

SunCommon is a market-leading, renewable energy company and Benefit Corporation that is fueled by the belief that everyone has the right to a healthy environment and brighter future.  We are looking for a mission-driven, highly-motivated Solar Community Organizer to join our outreach efforts and be a critical part of the solar movement.  

Overview:
As the Solar Community Organizer, you will be responsible for generating interest in solar through developing and nurturing relationships with homeowners, community leaders, stakeholders, and individuals throughout the Hudson Valley - with a focus on Orange County. You will create community campaigns, host a table at local events, and partner with local media to educate others on the growing role that solar is playing in our clean energy future and inspire them to join the cause.

Pay & Perks:

  • -$20 - $21.50 per hour, based on experience

What you'll do as the Solar Community Organizer:

  • -Build the buzz!  Conduct outreach in the Hudson Valley to build awareness of the solar power movement
  • -Plan and execute community campaigns using community and digital marketing tools
  • -Tear down the barriers to clean energy by educating the community
  • -Interface with community leaders and stakeholders to help them and their networks switch to solar
  • -Host and participate in local events; join networking groups and organizations
  • -Partner with local media to keep solar and SunCommon in the news, and contribute to our social media presence
  • -Engage, inspire, and motivate existing customers and other ambassadors to help you grow the cause

What's required of you:

  • -Previous experience leading projects, programs, events, or campaigns
  • -Skill in public speaking and community relations
  • -Demonstrated familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media, including digital community building, influencer networking, and content curation
  • -Must have a flexible schedule and willingness to work evenings and weekends
  • -Valid driver's license 
  • -Palpable enthusiasm and commitment to the advancement of clean energy
