Digital Strategist, MJ for Texas
REPORTS TO: Digital Director
LOCATION: Austin, TX
As Digital Strategist, you'll develop dynamic and engaging content for social media, email, digital ads, and more for a highly competitive U.S. Senate race. Additionally, you'll help produce emails and assist in coordinating with our digital organizing program and other departments for social media needs. The Digital Strategist should be a creative thinker with lots of ideas for how to break through in a crowded election cycle.
This position will be based at the campaign's headquarters in Austin, TX. The position reports to the Digital Director. Salary is commensurate with experience and full medical benefits are provided.
Responsibilities:
Write and produce day-to-day and rapid response fundraising emails and SMS messages.
Draft social media copy and help maintain digital content calendar across all digital channels.
Coordinate with other departments to develop volunteer recruitment content, social media from the road, and more.
Travel with the candidate as needed to capture content from the road.
Produce graphics, GIFs, and video.
Qualifications:
1-3 years experience creating content, managing social media, and/or writing email for a campaign, organization, or company
Strong writing skills required
Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/AfterEffects, Canva, etc.
Experience creating digital content for rapid response moments
Experience in HTML/CSS, Blue State Digital, and ActBlue preferred
Fluency in Spanish preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage time effectively, and adapt quickly and easily to the changing landscape of a political campaign
