Director of Development – Strategic Partnerships – Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA)

Position Summary

The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) seeks to hire a Director of Development – Strategic Partnerships to support the National Finance Director and Executive Director in managing, growing, and strengthening the organization's relationship with our strategic partners for fundraising purposes. The Director of Development – Strategic Partnerships will collaborate with the political and policy departments to help the organization develop a successful fundraising strategy for engagement with ideological and progressive partners; the Director will work to develop and build relationships with strategic partners and prospective partners to meet and surpass fundraising goals

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create strategic plan to increase engagement with existing and prospective strategic partners
  • Manage the fundraising program for strategic partnerships and allies
  • Work with DAGA team to identify and build relationships with prospective partners and supporters
  • Provide and manage fundraising projections and reports
  • Manage Finance Associate(s)
  • Manage engagement and events with strategic partners and Democratic Attorneys General and candidates for Attorneys General
  • Develop and provide updates and materials to strategic partners and allies to support fundraising goals
  • May need to work evenings and weekends

Required Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proven ability to perform well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines and objectives
  • Clear and effective oral and written communications skills
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and operate effectively in a fluid and fast-paced environment
  • Project management skills that enable the juggling of multiple tasks, allocating and optimizing resources, and managing timelines
  • Sense of humor and positive attitude
  • Commitment to DAGA's mission

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of political fundraising experience with success meeting and exceeding goals
  • Experience leading a team and managing staff at all levels
  • Experience working with Principals
  • Experience working on political campaigns, preferably at the state-wide level
  • Donor relationship management and strong knowledge of stakeholders and funders within the progressive community
  • Bachelor's degree required
