Summary: Given the serious threat to progressive values across Florida, Equal Ground has begun an effort to engage the rising American Electorate through civic engagement activities with a goal to build and expand current capacity in communities of color. ​We will be hiring Regional Organizing Director to implement a plan in support of this effort.


Mission: With communities of color, we advise, empower and evaluate political representation  to create vital change through civic engagement, strategic planning, and social impact.  We train, mobilize and educate because we believe that an engaged community is a powerful community. This role reports to Managing Director.


Vision: To engage the rising American electorate through equal access to education about voting and empowerment


Locations: Orange, Seminole, Volusia, Pinellas

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review voter registration documents (Batch Sheets, Voter Registration forms, and other accompanying documents) for, legibility, accuracy, and completion.

  • Ensure scanned documents are uploaded into voter registration database within 24 hours of collection

  • Conduct a phone audit of applications collected to verify authenticity of forms and accuracy of data. 

  • Create a filing system that safeguards voter registrations forms for accurate record keeping and tracking 

  • Direct engagement with local county election administrators

  • Conduct a daily briefing with Regional Director to report card collection progress of canvass staff 

  • Correct or mitigate all flags to ensure productivity and accuracy.

  • Implement training specific to the canvasser(s) and flag(s), once a week to improve the quality of registration collection. 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Must have access to a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license 

  • Availability to work long and irregular hours in a fast-paced, metrics driven environment.

  • Adaptable to changing conditions requiring critical thinking skills.

  • Good judgement and sound decision making skills

  • Possess a passion for community organizing and movement building.

  • Experience utilizing campaign tools such as Votebuilder/VAN or voter databases 

  • High proficiency of G-Suite and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Record of organizational skills that demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines while working on multiple projects for Equal Ground Education Fund and Equal Ground Action Fund

  • Possess a winning mentality.

Compensation: $3,000 per month and this position is eligible for fringe benefits. Everyone will be subject to a background check. Applicants will be provided an opportunity to explain and/or correct background information.
