Position: Field Director
Overview: Challenger's campaign for the 2020 State Senate Primary Election in Chicago is seeking a Field Director to begin January 2020. The full-time position is based on the south side of Chicago. The position ends March 21, 2020.
Responsibilities:
Lead voter outreach efforts.
Recruit, train, and empower volunteers on a daily basis.
Help set and implement daily, weekly, and monthly voter contact goals.
Plan and coordinate volunteer events including weekend canvasses and phone banks.
Amplify message and momentum through social media platforms and storytelling.
Oversee data collection to ensure data is entered in an accurate and timely manner.
Build and expand relationships with neighborhood groups to ensure our campaign stays true to the grassroots.
Represent campaign and staff candidate at events as necessary.
Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
1-2 cycles of political experience in field preferred; at least some experience working in a political, non-profit, or community organizing. setting with diverse communities required.
Familiarity with VAN voter contact software strongly preferred.
Self-starter who takes a proactive approach to their job.
Good time management skills.
Access to a cell phone and laptop is required. Access to a vehicle is preferred.
Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work environment.
