Field Organizers needed for Congressional Campaign - NY 1 (Suffolk County, Brookhaven)
We're looking for enthusiastic people to join our field program in Suffolk County to elect Nancy Goroff to Congress in NY-1. Field Organizers will have the chance to work on an exciting campaign during a historic election year and will gain valuable experience in New York politics.
Responsibilities:
Recruit, train, and build a volunteer-based voter contact operation.
Organize grassroots events for community building and voter outreach (volunteer recruitment events, canvasses, phonebanks, etc.)
Use various methods of communication (door-knocking, phone calls, texts, email, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) for volunteer recruitment and voter contact
Accurately record information in Votebuilder database
Regularly attend community events, often outside of normal business hours
Other responsibilities as required to execute an effective field operation
Qualifications:
Previous experience with a campaign, state party, membership organization, or non-profit is preferred, but open to entry-level candidates with enthusiasm and passion for electing democrats.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required.
Proficiency in Google Suite, and Major Social Media Platforms required. Experience with VAN preferred
Local to Suffolk County or ability to relocate.
Must be passionate about community building and politics.
Ability to stay level-headed and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable transportation is required.
Ability to work long, irregular hours.
