Top-tier challenger race in DCCC Battleground District seeks a details-obsessed and experienced Finance Director to design, implement and lead our fundraising program.
The Finance Director will take on every aspect of our finance operation and demonstrate true "know-how" with the ins and outs of what it takes to manage and grow an already successful shop.
This is an excellent opportunity to spend 2020 working on one of the most competitive pick-up opportunities in the country.
Core responsibilities include:
-Craft and execute our on-year finance plan
-Project and update cash flow in coordination with the Campaign Manager
-Hold the Candidate and Finance Team accountable for meeting critical fundraising benchmarks
-Ensure the continued success of a dynamic call time operation, including an aggressive national donor prospecting program
-Plan and carry-out both high-dollar and low-dollar events around the district and country
-Work with the Digital Consultant to facilitate our email fundraising
-Build and manage relationships with key donors and stakeholders
-Draft various fundraising communications as needed
-Prepare regular fundraising reports for the Campaign Manager
Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities:
-At least 2+ cycles of finance experience (experience as a finance director is a plus, but not required)
-A hands-on approach to their finance program. The FD should have a "no job is too small" mentality
-Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines while also fostering a cooperative,
team-oriented work environment
-Care deeply about delivering high-quality work products with a problem-solver mentality.
-Want to make big contributions to a high-performing team
-Be comfortable working campaign hours
-Willingness to travel around the district and country as needed
-Extensive knowledge of NGP and Excel/Google Sheets
-Valid Driver's License and/or access to reliable transportation
