MIAMI-DADE DEMOCRATIC PARTY FIELD DIRECTOR
The Miami-Dade Democratic Party is expanding our team in advance of 2020 and is seeking an experienced Field Director. The Field Director will work in coordination with the Miami-Dade Democrat Executive Committee to increase voter turnout, and elect Democrats from the Federal to the municipal level. The Field Director will oversee 4 Regional Field Organizers. The Field Director will be responsible for designing and implementing all voter contact goals, hiring all Field Organizers, managing a budget, training both paid and volunteer field staff, tracking program metrics, and will assist in other tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate will be local, have worked at least 2 election cycles in field, be well-organized, comfortable leading staff both in the office and in the field, an experienced canvasser, and proficient in NGP VAN.
This position is full-time (approximately 50-60 hours/week), and will require work during nontraditional hours (nights and weekends).

Description of Duties
Oversee the execution of all staff and volunteer voter contact in accordance with the Democratic Executive Committee standards
Recruit, interview, hire, and train field staff
Track program progress, benchmarks, and deliverables
Coach Field Organizers both in the office and in the field on a continual basis
Conduct outreach to local community leaders and progressive organizations
Coordinate with Miami-Dade Democratic campaigns to create and manage volunteer operations
Liaise and develop relationships with Democratic campaign staff
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications (You will be a good fit if):
You have at least two cycles of field experience or equivalent organizing experience
You have experience hiring, training, and managing a team
You're passionate about electing Democrats to public office and contributing knowledge to the progressive community
Proficient in G Suite Products (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc), Microsoft Office, and VAN (especially list building, turf cutting, monitoring canvass results, and managing MiniVAN users)
You have strong knowledge of field targeting and metrics
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
● Demonstrated experience in community organizing and
legislative/political/electoral work● Experience working and effectively developing leadership within
underserved communities and communities of color
● Experience with Mobilize and Nationbuilder a plus
● Bilingual with either Spanish or Creole preferred
● Local candidates preferred
Logistics
● Must have a valid driver's license, reliable mode of transportation and the ability to travel throughout the county.
Ability to walk/stand on your feet for more than 4 hours at a time.
● Must have access to a working smartphone and laptop.
● Must have the ability to regularly lift and carry 25 lbs.
Salary & Benefits
The Miami-Dade Democratic Party offers a competitive salary with the opportunity for growth. Yearly salary for the Field Director position is $42,000 in addition to benefits. Bonuses may be available if reach goals are achieved. The position is currently slated through August 18th, 2020 and may be renewed through November 3rd, 2020.Apply
