Defend Our Future (www.defendourfuture.org) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to empowering young people of all political persuasions who are interested in advancing climate change and clean energy solutions that protect the world and future generations.
CAMPUS AMBASSADORS
Our Campus Ambassador program is our boots-on-the-ground effort to build the movement on campuses, with local businesses, and in communities. Campus ambassadors are typically college students who are enthusiastic about organizing their peers and community around climate action. We want to show our leaders that a broad coalition of young people, including students, young professionals and business owners, are demanding bold solutions that will get us to the 100% clean future we all deserve.
Each campus ambassador commits 5-10 hours of their time each week to build power on campus from a suite of activities, including but not limited to, establishing a campus chapter, tabling, recruiting volunteers, letter writing parties, office visits, hosting a Defend Our… event with a local business, and participating in or leading a climate strike.
TO APPLY:
Interested applicants can submit to jonathan@defendourfuture.org a two to three paragraph essay on why they think they have what it takes to be a Defend Our Future campus ambassador. We'd like to interview people by phone or video conference as soon as possible. We're hoping to make decisions by the end of April or early May.
COMPENSATION:
Each campus ambassador (up to two per campus) is provided a stipend of $1,500 per semester. We're also looking for people who are interested in being an ambassador for the full school year.
