JOB SUMMARY
Are you passionate about digital organizing, advancing progressive change, expanding the electorate, and defeating Trump? For Our Future Florida seeks a talented digital leader to enhance our campaigns as we embark on our most ambitious electoral and issue organizing field program to date. The Digital Director will assist in creating boundary-pushing long-term and rapid response digital communications strategies and identify and implement new ways to integrate digital organizing into all voter engagement tactics. We're looking for someone with hands-on experience with digital strategy and organizing, SMS and peer texting tools, content design and development, social media account management, email marketing, and website management. Our ideal candidate will have competencies in digital organizing, planning and management in support of field, electoral, and issue campaigns.
The Digital Director is a senior staff position based at Florida headquarters that reports to the Communications Director.
This is a full-time position with benefits through at least November 6, 2020.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Creating aggressive, long- and short-term digital communications strategies including for SMS, paid digital, email and social;
- Identifying new digital communications avenues and creating compelling digital content that can be localized;
- Analyzing and communicating digital metrics from digital platforms including social media channels, website traffic, and CRM data from action forms and emails;
- Increasing the social media reach of For Our Future and progressive partners to push our message directly to the people we are trying to reach through content strategy and community engagement;
- Identifying and implementing new ways to integrate digital organizing into all voter engagement tactics;
- Working across departments to support integration on projects such as digital layering that connects field and digital organizing;
- Maintaining and updating social media channels with original content, including graphics, videos, and other creative content;
- Overseeing email program;
- Continuously assessing social media landscape and identifying key messengers across all social platforms;
- Establishing digital program efficacy and ensuring integration of program data; and
- Managing vendors for digital tools as necessary.
Qualifications:
- 3-7 years experience in digital strategy, content development, and social media account management;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, including content creation;
- Experience interpreting social media platform analytics;
- Experience using digital organizing tools such as MobilizeAmerica;
- Experience with email marketing and website management;
- Experience using graphic design tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator). Video editing experience a plus;
- Experience with utilizing message testing, political polling, offline and online analytics to target and build strategy is a plus;
- Experience with digital organizing and planning in support of field, electoral, and issue campaigns (voter contact, GOTV);
- Creativity in message delivery and plan design;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with unpredictable hours, and juggle multiple projects at once;
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member in a busy office with personal enthusiasm, optimism, and a sense of humor;
- Experience with independent expenditure organizations and campaigns a plus; and
- A passion for progressive causes.
