Our team manages this group and moderates all postings. Democratic GAIN is transitioning all services to GAIN POWER and will cease to exist in May 2020. If you are part of Democratic GAIN, you will get separate announcements about this. During this transition, we hope all users of JTAL will join GAIN POWER. GAIN POWER is 100% user opt-in - which means you need to create an account and create your profile.
GAIN POWER is a new collaborative networking platform dedicated to promoting and celebrating individuals, organizations, and campaigns, working for Democratic and Progressive change through political actions, elections, and legislative advocacy. GAIN POWER will continue to provide what Democratic GAIN has offered and more.
We seek to build a community for creative change-makers, progressive professionals, Democratic candidates, campaigns & consultants, ideologically left advocacy nonprofits, socially conscious businesses, Democracy activists, advocates, artists, influencers, donors, and investors, disrupters, resisters & persisters.
We offer a place for networking & marketing, directories, a marketplace of ideas and services, professional development, intelligence, curated content, and stories about the people, campaigns, and organizations working to take back our democracy.
GAIN POWER is a brand new platform for the community of organizations and individuals who work in Democratic and Progressive politics. Our beta site is open now for early adopters. We'd love to see you join now and set up your profile. You've worked with us to find jobs or talent, and now we want you to use GAINPower to find everything else you need to hire, market, collaborate, and engage.
We if you lead a campaign, organization, have a firm, are a freelancer, or have a useful resource like a blog, book, other job board, training, or have events, we hope you will create a directory listing on GAIN POWER. We are starting to build marketing directories for the Democratic & Progressive movement. We're just getting started and hope you will list yourself to grow this resource for everyone.
GAIN POWER is a hub for the Democratic & Progressive professional community - like a Progressive Linkedin with a slightly different twist:
Career Center: a place to post jobs, for talent to find jobs, gigs, and other professional development advice, and special events like our inaugural virtual career fairs. For those of you who use Democratic GAIN's career center to post jobs, your account is there as it was before, but it just looks a little different.
Networking: Individual profiles, one to one connections, private and open groups, and forums to exchange advice and ideas.
Directories: Pages for Democratic Campaigns, Progressive Nonprofits, Firms and Freelancers, and others looking to market programs, products, and services. With lead generation, fundraising links, ratings, and reviews!
Powerful: Our storytelling blog that offers advice, celebrates the entrepreneurial, founders, leaders, creators, organizers who work to GAIN POWER through advocacy and elections.
All Democratic campaigns, progressive organizations, consulting firms, mission-driven company jobs, paid internships, and other professional opportunities are welcome here.
We have recently modified the posting rules for JTAL. GAIN POWER wants to have a relationship with everyone who joins and uses this listserv. We understand it can be strategically important to mask who is hiring and who is posting some jobs - but it is essential to know the relationship the person sharing has with the job -whether you are an employee, consultant, recruiter, or third party. If you do NOT disclose the name of the person posting and the organization hiring, we may not approve the post. We request full names, contact phone numbers, and organization websites. You can email this information to us at JTAL@GAINPOWER.org. After receiving this information, we will approve the post.

For job posters, we ask that your submissions meet a handful of guidelines to make sure JTAL stays user-friendly and considerate of our job hunters:
For convenience, please include the job title, organization name, and approximate location in the subject line of every posting.
Please limit yourself to one posting per job you have to fill. JTAL is already an active listserv, and this helps avoid flooding our subscribers with information they've already seen. Like a job board, positions never expire on JTAL and can always be browsed and returned to online. If you're having trouble filling a post, you may repost, but please wait until you've allowed enough time for applicants to get in touch.
No attachments, please! Instead, paste or write out the job details in the body of your post.
Please note that internships must be paid (or offer a stipend) and specified as such.
