We hope you and your loved ones continue to keep safe and secure. We wrote here, last week and on our other social channel about Democratic GAIN converting to GAIN POWER. The name change is much more than a rebranding. So we want to share more about this and invite you to join us on our new platform to GAIN POWER. I also did a podcast interview with Nathaniel Pearlman on The Great Battlefield recently that went live this week explaining our plans.
GAIN POWER has a wholly new mission and different goals for this same community of users who work in Democratic & Progressive politics. We have new programs and services but are keeping some that we always had at Democratic GAIN. This listserv is one of them. JTAL has a few new posting rules, and we are taking intentional steps to integrate everyone here into our GAIN POWER platform, but otherwise, it will remain the same.
We will also use our editorial privilege as moderators of this list to share more about what is going on with our primary site GAIN POWER and to encourage you to join and spend time with us there. We even created a JTAL group on GAIN POWER.
GAIN POWER is a new virtual coworking place to democratize democracy work, win electoral and issue campaigns - at the local, state, and national level with several core features:
Career Center: JTAL will still be a job listserv but have a more robust distributed job board on GAIN POWER.
Networking: On GAIN POWER, individuals log in and create personal profiles to Network one to one. Here you can make personal connections, send and share messages, post to your profile much like LinkedIn or Facebook. We also have user-generated groups and forums.
Directory pages: We have Directories for organizations, companies, and resources pages. If you represent a candidate or ballot measure campaigns, you should add a page. If you work for a national or local nonprofit advocacy organization, please add it to our directories. If you have a firm or are a freelancer, have a product or service for Democratic campaigns or progressive advocacy organizations - please add your listing. If you have a resource such as a book, podcast, other job board, training site, or other resources you think may be useful for this site - please add it. We have free and premium pages for all these things. And individual profiles are all free. All you have to do is register and create a page at GAINPOWER.org today.
There are more features for you to promote yourself and your campaigns, companies, and organizations there now and to come soon. You can get advice, network in our groups, use our forums, and social feeds. It is going to take some time for everyone to join and populate this platform, but we think it will be a tremendous resource for every one of you and all our users - like a virtual coworking space.
GAIN POWER will continue to be a place for Democratic & Progressive employers to find talent and for talent to search for jobs, but we are evolving it into a collaborative virtual coworking site. Please join us today at GAIN POWER.
