Voter Participation Center <info@voterparticipation.org>: Apr 21 12:19PM -0700

Position: Digital Programs Manager

Supervisor: Deputy Director of Digital Programs

Description

Major national civic engagement nonprofit organizations seek a digital
programs manager to support large-scale online voter registration,
vote-by-mail and mobilization efforts.

Organization

For the last 16 years, the Voter Participation Center (VPC), a 501(c)(3)
civic engagement organization, has led the way in recognizing and
harnessing the potential power of the Rising American Electorate
(RAE)—unmarried women, people of color, and young people—as a vital voting
bloc. The VPC has positioned itself as the leading experimental and
scientific civic engagement organization by accumulating more than a
decade's worth of knowledge and experience in registering and turning out
this new majority of eligible voters. The VPC's programs have consistently
proven to be some of the most impactful and cost-effective programs in the
civic engagement community—and to date the VPC has helped over 4.4 million
Americans register to vote and thousands apply to vote by mail. The VPC's
2018 registration and turnout programs were the largest in organizational
history, and the VPC's 2020 programs are on track to be even larger.

The Center for Voter Information (CVI) is a progressive 501(c)(4) nonprofit
that works to engage and persuade both the RAE as well as the broader
electorate.

Role

The Digital Programs manager will support the VPC's and the CVI's digital
programs to register, mobilize and inform the electorate via
research-informed tactics and strategies. This is a cycle role and will end
December 31 2020. This position is in Washington DC.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-

Support implementation of the VPC's and the CVI's online voter
registration, digital vote-by mail and mobilization programs
-

Collaborate with communications team and monitor and support VPC's
social media pages and inquiries
-

Design and test new messaging and approaches for peer to peer sms
turnout and vote by mail pushes
-

Own pieces of the VPC's pilot digital programs, including a influencer
strategy
-

Help ensure that programs aimed at increasing participation among
historically underrepresented communities are culturally competent and
produce the intended impact
-

Keep up to date tracking and reporting for individual digital projects

The ideal candidate will have:

-

3+ years professional experience, including experience with paid digital
programs and social media
-

Experience with paid digital organizing strategies and tactics including
digital platforms, email, and SMS preferred
-

Experience with digital direct acquisition programs preferred
-

Experience on electoral or advocacy campaigns preferred
-

Excellent communication, writing, and time-management skills
-

An understanding or willingness to learn about the testing and
analytical approaches and tools used by the private sector and/or the civic
engagement community to measure impact
-

A commitment to equity and erasing the gaps in political participation
in this country
-

Familiarity with the civic engagement and progressive political landscape
-

A track record of getting results in a fast-paced environment
