Dr. Gary Wegman, a Berks County dentist and 5th generation farmer, is running for Pennsylvania's 9th Congressional District. As a 36-year medical professional and a small business owner, Wegman is highlighting the rising cost of prescription medications and health insurance, as well as the need for infrastructure investment and support for 9th District agricultural communities.
Job Description
The finance director will be responsible for raising sufficient funds to support a competitive campaign. Duties include (but are not limited to):
Preparing for and staffing call time
Work closely with treasurer and compliance staff
Overseeing fundraising events
Donor research
Working with the campaign director, campaign committee, and candidate to create and work towards financial goals of the campaign
Keeping the candidate on track to meet fundraising goals
Qualifications
We are looking for a hard-working, highly organized, creative person that has a keen interest in electing Democrats in rural America. A competitive applicant will have prior campaign finance experience or experience in a similar position. As the finance director will be required to assist in creation of the fundraising program, we are looking for someone that is a self-starter and not afraid to step up and take responsibility.
Preferred skills include:
Experience with NGPVAN and/or other similar fundraising tools
Working knowledge of campaign finance laws
Experience researching and cultivating donors
Willingness to relocate, have the ability to travel across the district, and access to a car.
Experience working/living in rural America and an understanding of tactics needed to win as a Democrat in a majority-Republican district
Details
Full-time, flexibility to work evenings and weekends
Expenses (gas, etc.) refunded on an as-needed basis
Housing included
Salary based on experience with potential bonuses related to funds raised
